We have two ongoing summer mission partnerships: South Africa and The Philippines
The basics
Who: MKs and TCKs in High School interested in serving God on a mission trip designed specifically for you.
You must have finished 8th grade to apply.
MKs from all mission organizations are welcome!
What: Summer mission in South Africa or The Philippines
South Africa Ministry: June 14—July 11 (not including travel)
Partnering with Genesis & Norwegian Settlers Church in Port Shepstone
Partnering with Lighthouse Youth on their annual mission trip
Leading children’s ministry through a Holiday Bible Club (HBC) similar to VBS-style outreach.
Working with teenagers in a school setting
Community Care (praying and engaging with community members through Genesis’ medical ministry)
Serving at El Roi Baby Home
The Philippines Ministry: June 16 - July 14 (not including travel)
Partnering with Christ Centered Fellowship, a local church that serves youth and children in the city of Iloilo City
Outreach to local youths through events and discipleship
Kids ministry in partnership with Compassion International
Ministry to local moms and parents
Community outreach
Evangelism to local youths and adults around the city
Partnering with other organizations and churches in the area and neighboring islands

Port Shepstone, South Africa
mk2mk has been bringing MKs to South Africa since 2012! Come be part of our continued investment in the community, and join many generations of MKs who have grown and learned in the community together. Our trips always include both internal and external ministry. The external ministry focuses on both learning about and serving the needs of the local community. We partner with two organizations: Norwegian Settlers Church & Genesis Hope South Africa. We typically try to do a mixture of kids ministry (similar to VBS), youth ministry (leading games, talks, camps, etc.), and tangible service (Community Care through Genesis, delivering food parcels and other gifts to community members).
In our internal ministry, we empower our students to walk with God by having bible studies, small groups, worship, and prayer in the evenings. We also do fun outings as a way to build community among each other. Students will be a part of a small group with other MKs led by one of our mk2mk leaders. Our mk2mk leaders will also provide one-on-one discipleship, bible studies, and workshops/talks on a variety of topics such as biblical sexuality, mental health, doubt, transition, grief, guy/girl issues, and so much more! We typically live in a retreat center near the church: Skogheim Christian Conference Center.
Iloilo, THe PHILIPPINES
This will be mk2mk’s third time going to The Philippines! We are excited to go back and continue to connect with this partnership.
The summer mission in The Philippines includes both external and internal ministry. The external ministry focuses on learning about and serving the needs of the local community. In The Philippines, we’ll partner with an amazing church, Christ Centered Fellowship. Through this partnership, you will get to be involved in a mixture of kids ministry, youth ministry (leading games, talks, etc.), evangelism (sharing our faith and our personal testimony), and community service.
